The Bachelor of Perfusion Technology is a specialized three-year undergraduate program designed to equip students with the knowledge and technical skills necessary for managing extracorporeal circulation during cardiac surgeries. The program includes extensive training in the operation of heart-lung machines, blood gas analyzers, and other advanced equipment used in cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries.
Students learn to provide life support to critically ill patients, assist in organ transplant procedures, and monitor patients' vital signs during and after surgeries. The course also covers emergency procedures, patient stabilization, and critical care management, preparing graduates to work as clinical perfusionists in hospitals, cardiac centers, and transplant units.
Graduates can pursue advanced studies in perfusion technology or work as cardiac perfusionists, cardiovascular technologists, or clinical application specialists in healthcare institutions.
